Freeride or Freeride XL? Choose the pedal that best suits your riding style.
In the world of freeride, choosing the right pedal is crucial. It’s not just about looks or size—every detail directly impacts your ride and the control of your bike in the most critical moments. Switch Components has developed two solutions designed to meet different needs, but with the same attention to detail and high-quality materials: the Freeride pedal and the Freeride XL.
The Freeride pedal: precision and control
The Freeride model is aimed at those who prioritize responsiveness and precision on the trail. With a compact 100×90 mm platform and a weight of 380 grams, this pedal offers a direct and immediate connection with the bike—ideal for tackling tight, dynamic lines. Strategically placed pins ensure consistent grip, while the CNC Alloy construction, CrMo axle, and sealed bearings guarantee durability and reliability even in the most extreme conditions.
The Freeride XL: more surface, more stability
Developed after months of testing in the most demanding bike parks, the Freeride XL is the answer for those seeking greater stability without compromising on quality. With an enlarged 110×100 mm platform and a weight of 400 grams, it offers a wider contact area that enhances grip and stability—especially on technical and uneven terrain. The mere 20-gram difference from the standard model is easily outweighed by the added sense of confidence you’ll feel from the very first descent, particularly on challenging sections like drops, roots, and slippery rocks.
And you, which one do you choose? Freeride or XL?
The choice between Freeride and Freeride XL comes down to your riding style and trail needs. If you prefer a pedal that responds instantly to every movement, allowing you maximum control in tight corners and technical maneuvers, the Freeride is the ideal choice. If instead you want a larger platform and greater confidence on aggressive and unstable descents, the Freeride XL will give you that extra grip and stability that makes all the difference.
